Portside Pier - San Diegos Newest Restaurant Venue

Brigantine one over Anthony's Fish Grotto as the newest downtown waterfront restaurant venue. Replacing Anthony's, a 51-year-old building way downtown on the waterfront, Brigantine as well as three other restaurants will make their debut about a year and a half from now. The port has decided to tear down the building with construction happening around February 1 of next year.
Anthony's Fish Grotto has been providing downtown seafood for decades but within the last six months, Anthony's has closed and approval has just been granted for a new $20 million replacement that will eventually be a four restaurant complex on the waterfront. San Diego's Unified Port District board unanimously approved demolition of the 51-year-old building at the foot of Ash Street six months after the closing of the restaurant.
Port officials hope to begin demolition by the end of the year with construction starting next February. The opening of the restaurants should be about one year from then. This new project will be a must-see restaurant venue right on the waterfront. Key changes to the waterfront will include a public promenade from the first to the second-floor viewing deck and a larger dock and dining facility open to all boaters, not just restaurant patrons. Parking will be an off-site valet service to parking at the location has always been an issue.
There will be two elevators and two sets of staircases that lead to a rooftop visitors deck as well as two new boat docks capable of handling up to 12 boats and water taxis.

New Four Seasons Building Underway in Beverly Grove

The Four Seasons Residences is underway with their new 12 story luxury project by developer Genton Property Group. This groundbreaking project has begun construction on the 59 residents condominium and will include when completed townhomes and the 12,000 square-foot penthouse worth over $50 million. This penthouse will take up the entire top floor of the development offering its own private pool, garden and six car garage.But that's just one of the unit at this new Four Seasons Condominium. The complex, located at 9000 W. 3rd St., will be divided into three wings; the Tower, the Wetherly Wing, and Almont Wing. The units will have an average size of about 2400 to 2600 ft.². There are a number of new Developments in Downtown San Diego: AV8 - Built by CityMark, AV8 is a rental community located at 2101-2175 Kettner Blvd in the heart of Little Italy. There will be 132 apartments and the completion date is January 2018. Amenities include Turf "chill area" to take in views of San Diego Bay, outdoor kitchen and fireplace, lounge areas, terrace, bocce ball area, bike garage, and pet-wash room. The Rey - Tucked away in the peaceful community of Cortez Hill, The Rey is a 22-story apartment community built by Wood Partners and the Berkshire Groups. It contains 478 individual apartment buildings and is available for immediate occupancy. Rents start at $1765 for studios and go up to $3575 for two-bedrooms. Amenities include a rooftop pool with a lounge and kitchen area, two-story gym, and an "Eco roof." Park 12 - This 37 story tower is located in Ballpark Village next door to Petco Park. Building is currently underway for 24 story mixed-use high-rise tower at 520 West Ash St. in downtown San Diego's Little Italy neighborhood. The building will include five levels of underground parking, nearly 5000 ft.² of commercial space, three additional levels of aboveground parking and 19 levels of residential units. The building will also include a rooftop common area with a swimming pool and outdoor space. Currently there is a three-story office building but the new 266 foot tall development will replace the CrossFit Invictus building located at 1446 Columbia St. The renderings of this new building include a glass façade with exposed concrete and painted metal panels. The design is from Carrier Johnson + Culture. Other designs by the same company include the Sempra Energy Headquarters and the new Ballpark Village. The location couldn't be more ideal. It's just minutes away from the heart of Little Italy as well as the Marina and Gas lamp districts. Shops, restaurants, markets and entertainment are all within a block or two from this location. Currently, there is no known date for completion but the project is already underway.
