Old San Francisco, also known as District 7 borders the North Waterfront to the West and stretches from the bay south to about California Street and west to Presidio. It includes a four smaller neighborhoods such as Cow Hollow, Marina, Pacific Heights and Presidio Heights. It is aptly named due to the age of the homes, victorian and historical as well as some of the most prestigious homes in San Francisco.
These affluent neighborhoods feature shopping areas, the Jewish community Center of San Francisco, fine dining restaurants along the waterfront and numerous residential neighborhoods. There are two main parts; Alta Plaza Park and Lafayette Park as well as the California Pacific medical Center located on Sacramento and Clay Street. The San Francisco Maritime National Historic Park is nestled along the water as well.
This neighborhood is primarily residential with many single-family homes and properties and just a few condominiums and townhome buildings interspersed here and there. The majority of properties are low to mid rise condo buildings and there are very few if any high-rise buildings. Prices start at about $600,000 to over $3 million depending on size and condition.
